Lindsay King-Miller’s writing has appeared in Glamour Magazine, The Guardian, Them.us, Vice.com, and numerous other publications. She lives in Denver with her partner, their daughter, and two very spoiled cats. She is the author of Ask A Queer Chick (Plume, 2016).
After airport pickups, we’ll transfer you to our lovely private home, which will be the home base for our tour this weekend.
After arrival, we’ll have time for some downtime before departing on a short tour of Denver’s city highlights.
Later in the evening, we’ll start our first writing workshop, which will get your creative juices flowing.
Meals included: Dinner
After making breakfast in our gorgeous mansion, we’ll leave with our journals in hand. On our way to our horseback riding experience in the Rocky Mountains, we’ll stop at Chautaqua Park in Denver, where we’ll have a writing prompt and share a picnic lunch.
We’ll continue on to go horseback riding, which will last roughly 90 minutes. Afterwards, we’ll take a visit to the iconic hotel from The Shining, where we can share a cocktail on the deck.
From here, we’ll drive back to Denver. Options for dinner tonight will be presented.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch
This morning after breakfast, we’ll travel as a group to go whitewater rafting. The experience will last roughly 2 hours and is thrilling enough to get your blood pumping, but not so scary that you should be afraid. We’ll have lunch together in a nearby town, where you’ll be able to choose from a variety of options.
Afterwards, we’ll return home to shower and change.
We’ll have one last writing session, before heading off to our farewell dinner as a group.
Meals included: Breakfast, dinner
It’s departure day and we’re bummed. But we know the incredible bonds that were created during this writing workshop will hold up for years to come, and we know we’ll see you again soon.
After breakfast, we’ll begin airport transfers. We suggest you book a late morning or early afternoon flight today.
For this workshop, we will rent a private home. Each participant will have their own room. We choose to stay privately because we need space to write, to create and to share — these things do not lend themselves well to hotels.
You’ll fly into Denver International Airport (DEN).
No, but you need to be comfortable writing from various prompts, and sharing with the group.
Some prompts may encourage you to go deeper, and you’ll find the best energy when you allow yourself to share openly and be vulnerable.
Every participant in this workshop comes from a different background with different experience, and all are welcome.
