Day 2: Amman City Tour - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Petra

After breakfast at our hotel, we will meet our driver and tour guide at 8 a.m. to start our Amman City Tour.

Today, we’ll be exploring the Citadel and the Roman Theatre in downtown Amman, continuing onto Madaba “The City of Mosaics” where we will explore the St. George Church of the 6th century A.D and enjoy the Mosaics of the Holy Land Map.

After a short drive, we arrive to Mount Nebo to retrace with our tour guide the steps of Moses and admire the spectacular view of the Promised Land just as he would have over 2,000 years before.

On a clear day, Jerusalem, Jericho and the Dead Sea can be all be seen. A memorial in Moses’ honor can be found at the entrance to the early Byzantine Christian church where Moses is believed to have died.

We’ll end the day in Petra with dinner and overnight at our accommodation.

Day 3: Petra - Wadi Rum

After breakfast at our hotel, we will start by exploring the legendary Rose Red city of Petra.

This city of the Nabataeans was built over 2,000 years ago and lays hidden in a huge rocky mountain accessed via a high and narrow gorge. With monumental facades and spectacular buildings sculpted out of solid rock, this breathtaking site has been described by UNESCO as “one of the most precious cultural properties of man’s cultural heritage,” and also one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

The group and the guide will start from the main gate and take you all the way through the Siq to visit the Treasury, Street of Facades, the Theatre, and Nympheom and Qaser El- Bent.

You’ll then have some free time on your own to explore and take photos. After, return to the main gate to meet our driver, who will transfer you to Wadi Rum, where you’ll be camping overnight in a luxury desert camp.

Day 4: Wadi Rum - Dead Sea

After breakfast at the camp, we will set off to experience the magic of the desert landscape during one of the best rides of your life – on a 3-hour 4×4 safari.

Towering castle-like mountains and beautifully colored cliffs can be seen in every direction, and you can easily imagine that Lawrence of Arabia might come galloping around the next corner on his camel.

Experience the magic of the desert, the sand dunes and some of the ancient inscriptions, rocky formations and natural bridges. After, we continue to the Dead Sea for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Dead Sea - Bethany - Amman

This morning we will have some free time at our accommodation (a hotel of the Dead Sea), where we can enjoy the sea and pools and meet our tour guide and driver before driving to Bethany.

The archaeological site of Bethany is one of the most important biblical discoveries in the world. Excavations began in 1996 and have already uncovered more than 20 churches, caves and baptismal pools dating from the Roman and Byzantine periods.

Archaeologists are assured this is where John the Baptist lived, Jesus was baptized, and the first five apostles met. Afterwards, we continue to Amman for dinner and to check in to our hotel.

Day 6: Amman - Jerash - Amman Airport

It’s departure day, but we’re going to squeeze in just a little more adventure.

This morning we will leave Amman at 7.30 AM and continue to one of Jordan’s MUST-SEE sites – Jerash – so well preserved that you can almost hear the banter of the merchants and the creaking of chariot wheels along the cobblestoned streets.

With a 2-hour guided tour, we will explore the breathtaking arches, temples and baths, before heading to the airport for departures. It’s best if your return flight is in the late afternoon or evening.

We’ll be sad to see you go, but what an incredible week we had!
