Day by Day

Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7 Day 8 Day 9

Day 1: Arrival to Amman

Welcome to Jordan! Today we will meet you upon your arrival at Queen Alia International Airport and assist you with your visa to Jordan, and then walk with you outside the airport to meet our private driver.

From here, we'll continue to Amman for dinner and overnight at our hotel. We know you're probably tired from flying, so we'll keep the itinerary light today.

Meals: D

Hotel: W Hotel Amman

Day 2: Amman City Tour + Jordan Rivers

After breakfast at our hotel, we will meet our driver and tour guide at 8:30 a.m. to start our Amman City Tour.

We'll be exploring the Citadel and the Roman Theatre in downtown Amman, both sites that you absolutely cannot miss while visiting Amman. Depending on the time of day, you may also hear the sounds of the call to prayer, echoing from the many mosques in the city and bouncing off the hills.

Next, we’ll visit Jordan Rivers Design, a women-owned cooperative started by Queen Alia, to shop for beautiful handmade artifacts.

Later, we’ll have lunch at a women’s co-operative, Iraq El-Amir. Here, we’ll choose a group activity for the afternoon - ceramics, organic paper making, weaving, or traditional food sampling “Mazze”.

Afterwards, we'll return to the hotel for some downtime. Dinner tonight as a group.

Meals: B, L, D

Hotel: W Hotel Amman

Day 3: Jerash + Madaba + Dead Sea

Today after breakfast, we'll check out of the hotel and take a 1-hr drive to Jerash, the site of a former Roman empire, for a guided tour.

Then, we'll head to Madaba, "The City of Mosaics" where we will have lunch and explore the St. George Church of the 6th century A.D. and enjoy the Mosaics of the Holy Land Map.

After a short drive, we'll arrive at Mount Nebo to retrace with our tour guide the steps of Prophet Moses. A memorial in Moses’ honor can be found at the entrance to the early Byzantine Christian church where Moses is believed to have died. Here, we will admire the spectacular view of the Promised Land just as he would have over 2,000 years before. On a clear day, Jerusalem, Jericho, and the Dead Sea can be seen.

Afterwards, we'll check into our luxury hotel at the Dead Sea.

Meals: B, L, D

Hotel: Movenpic Dead Sea

Day 4: Dead Sea

We're in such a beautiful place, so today is yours to just chill and enjoy. Spend your day at the spa, float in the Dead Sea, or soak up the views from the resort's many infinity pools.

There is a lot to see and do in Jordan, but this is also your vacation -- enjoy this relaxing day to unwind in the most gorgeous of places.

Lunch is on your own today and at your leisure, as there are many restaurants on-property to choose from.

Meals: B, D

Hotel: Movenpick Dead Sea

Day 5: Dead Sea to Kerak to Petra

In the morning we will have breakfast at our Dead Sea hotel and then check out to begin today’s adventure. We will drive (1.5 hrs) towards the ancient crusader castle in Kerak to explore the maze of stone-vaulted halls and passageways.

The city of Kerak was the capital of Moab and the castle dominates the skyline. The castle provides an impressive insight into the architectural and military skills of the Crusaders.

After, we’ll enjoy a traditional Mansaf meal at a local restaurant in Kerak before continuing on the Desert Highway to Petra, one of the 7 wonders of the world!

We'll check into our hotel and then, after dinner, we'll enjoy something very special: seeing Petra at night, lit only by the light of a thousand candles. It's so magical and perfect it just might make you cry!

This is a special experience that only happens on certain days of the week, but we made sure to time this tour just right to give you that opportunity.

Back to the hotel for overnight.

Meals: B, L, D

Hotel: Petra Movenpick Hotel

Day 6: Petra to Wadi Rum

Today is all about Petra! After breakfast, spend the morning exploring this beautiful, historic site.

Make the adventurous hike to the Monastery, walk around to different points of interest, or enjoy this stunning wonder however you would like.

Marvel at the beauty of the Lost City, the Red Rose City of Petra, exploring its many caves and tombs. Walk through the canyon and be astounded at the magnificent Treasury, the entrance guarding the ancient Nabatean city.

In the afternoon, (2pm), we'll drive to Wadi Rum (1.5 hrs), a nature reserve that honestly looks like Mars (no wonder it’s been the set of movies from Star Wars to the Martian!)

We'll check into our Wadi Rum camp, Desert Seasons. If time allows in the afternoon, we can arrange for an optional camel ride in the desert (+$35).

At sunset, we’ll take a wilderness adventure on a 4 x 4 jeep tour of Wadi Rum, following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, climbing sand dunes and rock bridges.

Our camp tonight is in the middle of the desert, which will give you the chance to gaze at the stars in the night sky whilst enjoying the legendary hospitality of the Bedouin, before sleeping at the foot of the awesome mountains exploding out from the desert landscape.

Meals: B, D

Hotel: Desert Seasons Camp

TIP: Want to save energy at this massive complex? Golf carts are available at entrance of Petra for +$35 and take you the 1 mile from the entrance to the Treasury, and return.

Day 7: Wadi Rum to Aqaba

After breakfast at Wadi Rum, we'll check out of our bubble tents and drive (1 hr) to Aqaba.

We’ll take a short city tour and explore the downtown Aqaba spice market - a great place to stock up on spices you'd never find at home!

Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure and we'll re-group for dinner at the hotel.

Meals: B, D

Hotel: Movenpick Resort Aqaba Hotel

Day 8: Aqaba

Today after breakfast, we’ll get out on the Red Sea and relax in style on board a 3-hour private chartered boat cruise with a BBQ lunch included.

You'll have the rest of the afternoon at your leisure, and we'll meet up for our final dinner together tonight at the hotel.

Meals: B, L, D

Hotel: Movenpick Resort Aqaba Hotel

Day 9: Departures

We’re up early today in order to get back to Amman, but first, we’ll grab a boxed breakfast from the hotel to enjoy on our 4-hour drive to the Amman Airport, arriving by 10am. Our tour officially concludes at the Amman airport, so please ensure you will have enough time to catch your international connection if you are leaving today. (We recommend at least 2-3 hours.)

It's been such an awesome time, and we're sad this tour has to end. But what an adventure! We know you'll remember it for years to come.

Will you match me? Of course! If you choose a space in a shared room but you're traveling solo, we will do our best to pair you with a roommate. Roommates are matched based on arrival time and perceived compatibility. Sharing a room is a great way to save costs, and make a new friend! However, we ask you to approach the situation with an open mind, some grace, and maybe a little humor.

While 99% our travelers are amazing, we can't guarantee that you'll hit it off with your roommate, or that your sleeping styles will be compatible.

Is sharing right for you? If you are a light sleeper, get easily irritated or just know that you need your own space, sharing a room might not be for you. Likewise, if you know that you snore, sleep with a CPAP machine or have other health conditions, sharing a room might not be the best fit.

What if I don't get along with my roommate? If you've tried but you absolutely can't get along with your roommate and need to separate, your trip leader will either swap things around, or, attempt to get you your own room. If the latter, additional charges will incur.

What if I book a double room, and you can't match me? We book a certain amount of hotel rooms before any tour, and are bound by their rules. In the event that we cannot find a roommate for you before the tour, and your room converts to a single room, there may be additional charges.

Small group trips require at least 4 people to run. We will confirm as soon as possible when the trip has met its minimum; up to 60 days before departure. For this reason, we recommend waiting until after a trip has been confirmed to purchase airfare. Any tour can be converted to a private departure when a trip does not meet its minimum. Additional costs may incur. Alternatively, apply your credit to any small-group tour departing within 12 months.
