Day 1: Arrivals

Welcome to Mexico, where the desert meets the sea and towering cacti rise above the turquoise waters of Baja California Sur. Your journey begins in La Paz, a laid-back coastal city known for its warm community, vibrant seaside energy, and deep connection to the ocean.

You'll be greeted by your private airport transfer to a charming boutique hotel in the heart of town. Unwind after your journey with a quiet moment by the pool or on a gentle stroll along the waterfront as the light softens over the bay.

We'll gather for a rooftop welcome dinner with sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez. It's the perfect place to connect with your fellow travelers, ease into the rhythm of Baja life, and prepare for a memorable trip.

Day 2: Whale Sharks + Culinary Adventure

After a quick breakfast at the hotel, we'll set out for one of Baja’s most extraordinary experiences: snorkeling alongside whale sharks in the Bay of La Paz! A women-led team deeply committed to marine conservation will lead this small-group encounter that is designed to be both respectful and unforgettable. As you swim in these calm, plankton-rich waters, you’ll witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat while learning about the importance of protecting this fragile ecosystem.

Afterwards, we'll trade our snorkeling mask for a chef's knife and partake in an immersive cooking class. We'll select our own fish and seafood at a local market before heading to an open-air terrace to learn how to prepare authentic Baja-style tacos.

Take the afternoon at your leisure before meeting back in the evening for a communal rooftop dinner full of fresh Bajan bites, craft cocktails, and great music in a laid back, open-air setting.

Day 3: Todos Santos Day Trip

Today we'll set out for Todos Santos, a charming pueblo mágico, known for it's vibrant art scene. We'll explore the artistic heart of town with a curated walking tour through its vibrant gallery scene. We'll visit the studios of working artists and explore a variety of mediums that reflect the area.

After the tour, enjoy free time for lunch and the opportunity to follow your curiosity, revisit a favorite spot, or discover a hidden gem. We'll gather in the afternoon for a hands-on artisanal experience where we'll create a traditional Baja mala - a beaded bracelet where each bead is intentionally knotted with a prayer or personal intention, making for a memorable keepsake to remember your time in Baja.

We'll return to La Paz and the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Day 4: Isla Espiritu Santo

We’ll set sail this morning, leaving La Paz behind as the water shifts to that unreal turquoise, bound for Isla Espíritu Santo - a protected island often called the “Galápagos of the North,” where desert cliffs meet the sea.

We'll slowly explore this magical marine ecosystem with stops to snorkel alongside a playful sea lion colony, pauses for birdwatching, and more breaks to see vibrant coral reef areas where colorful marine life thrive beneath the surface. We'll enjoy a relaxed beach picnic (featuring fresh ceviche) on a pristine beach in a secluded bay, accessible only by boat. We'll have time to swim, unwind, and take in the untouched beauty of the island before heading back to town, looking for dolphins and whales on the way back.

We'll take the afternoon to relax and recharge before gathering for our farewell dinner at one of the best restaurants in the city.

Weather: January is one of the best times to visit La Paz. Expect sunny, comfortable days in the mid-70s°F and cooler mornings and evenings in the 50s–60s°F. The Sea of Cortez is calm and clear, ideal for marine experiences like snorkeling and wildlife encounters. Rain is rare, and the air feels crisp and refreshing.

Packing: Think easy, coastal, and active. Bring comfortable walking shoes or sandals, swimwear for boat days, and lightweight clothing for warm afternoons. Layer with a light sweater or jacket for cooler mornings and evenings. A sun hat, sunglasses, and reef-safe sunscreen are essentials. A small daypack or tote is perfect for beach days, and don’t forget something casual yet elevated for group dinners by the water.

Join us if you’re adventurous, kind, open-minded and ready for the trip of a lifetime.

On this Baja journey, you can expect unforgettable days on the water paired with laid-back coastal moments. From swimming alongside whale sharks and snorkeling with playful sea lions to exploring the untouched beauty of Isla Espíritu Santo, this itinerary is designed to fully immerse you in the magic of the Sea of Cortez.

Many of these experiences take place in open water, so guests should feel comfortable swimming and being in the ocean. Life jackets are always available, but a basic level of swimming ability is essential to fully enjoy these moments.

As with any ocean-based itinerary, conditions such as weather and marine life activity can shift. Flexibility is part of the experience, and often leads to the most memorable, unexpected encounters. Come ready to embrace the rhythm of the sea with curiosity and a sense of adventure.

You'll receive an email from WeTravel after you book to set up your account and make payments according to your personal situation.

Email us at info@damesly.com if you'd like us to create a payment schedule for you. This is the easiest way to smooth out trip payments.

Tours must be paid in full 60 days before departure. See our cancellation policy here.

Will you match me?
Of course! If you choose a space in a shared room but you're traveling solo, we will do our best to pair you with a roommate. Roommates are matched based on arrival time and perceived compatibility. Sharing a room is a great way to save costs, and make a new friend! However, we ask you to approach the situation with an open mind, some grace, and maybe a little humor.

While 99% our travelers are amazing, we can't guarantee that you'll hit it off with your roommate, or that your sleeping styles will be compatible.

Is sharing right for you?
If you are a light sleeper, get easily irritated or just know that you need your own space, sharing a room might not be for you. Likewise, if you know that you snore, sleep with a CPAP machine or have other health conditions, sharing a room might not be the best fit.

What if I don't get along with my roommate?
If you've tried but you absolutely can't get along with your roommate and need to separate, your trip leader will either swap things around, or, attempt to get you your own room. If the latter, additional charges will incur.

What if I book a double room, and you can't match me?
We book a certain amount of hotel rooms before any tour, and are bound by their rules. In the event that we cannot find a roommate for you before the tour, and your room converts to a single room, there may be additional charges.

Small group trips require at least 4 people to run. We will confirm as soon as possible when the trip has met its minimum; up to 60 days before departure. For this reason, we recommend waiting until after a trip has been confirmed to purchase airfare. Any tour can be converted to a private departure when a trip does not meet its minimum. Additional costs may incur. Alternatively, apply your credit to any small-group tour departing within 12 months.
