Nepal + Bhutan

This is the kind of trip you'll talk about for the rest of your life. Our Nepal & Bhutan tour takes you deep into the cultural and spiritual heart of the Himalayas on an adventure that’s both powerful and rare.

We begin in Kathmandu, where centuries-old temples meet vibrant street life and mountain views. You'll explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Durbar Square, Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple), and Pashupatinath—but the real magic happens when we sit down to lunch with an actual living goddess, a once-in-a-lifetime cultural moment you’ll never forget!

Then, we'll fly to the Kingdom of Bhutan, one of the world’s most mystical and preserved countries. We’ll take our time exploring Thimphu during the colorful and deeply spiritual Thimphu Festival, a celebration of dance, music, and masked rituals set against a backdrop of ancient fortresses and mountain air. Just when you think it can’t get any better, we’ll lace up our boots and hike to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched impossibly high on a cliffside—it’s as challenging as it is awe-inspiring, and absolutely worth every step.

This is a bucket list trip in every sense, run in partnership with our friends at Sodha Travel, and space is very limited. If Nepal and Bhutan have ever been on your radar, don't let this one pass you by!

Day 3: Temple of the Living Goddess

The morning is reserved for those who wish to partake in our optional Mt. Everest Helicopter Tour. ($+330) Those who don't have the morning to catch up on rest. This afternoon, we will explore Kathmandu City together.

First we'll visit the bustling spice markets of Ason and Indrachowk, where the air is filled with the rich aromas of cardamom, cumin, and dried chilies. These ancient marketplaces, once vital trade hubs along the trans-Himalayan route, still pulse with energy as locals bargain for fresh produce, textiles, and traditional goods.

Then, we'll Kathmandu Durbar Square, where the charm of the old town blends well with traditional architecture in a rich cultural backdrop. The entire square was designated as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. The massive complex consists of three main squares, which is home to palaces, temples and courtyard.

Here, you'll also find the Temple of Living Goddess, Kumari. Kumari is a young Shakya girl from Newar community, chosen through an ancient and mystical selection to become the human incarnation of Hindu Goddess, Taleju. Will you match me?
Of course! If you choose a space in a shared room but you're traveling solo, we will do our best to pair you with a roommate. Roommates are matched based on arrival time and perceived compatibility. Sharing a room is a great way to save costs, and make a new friend! However, we ask you to approach the situation with an open mind, some grace, and maybe a little humor.

While 99% our travelers are amazing, we can't guarantee that you'll hit it off with your roommate, or that your sleeping styles will be compatible.

Is sharing right for you?
If you are a light sleeper, get easily irritated or just know that you need your own space, sharing a room might not be for you. Likewise, if you know that you snore, sleep with a CPAP machine or have other health conditions, sharing a room might not be the best fit.

What if I don't get along with my roommate?
If you've tried but you absolutely can't get along with your roommate and need to separate, your trip leader will either swap things around, or, attempt to get you your own room. If the latter, additional charges will incur.

What if I book a double room, and you can't match me?
We book a certain amount of hotel rooms before any tour, and are bound by their rules. In the event that we cannot find a roommate for you before the tour, and your room converts to a single room, there may be additional charges.

Small group trips require at least 4 people to run. We will confirm as soon as possible when the trip has met its minimum; up to 60 days before departure. For this reason, we recommend waiting until after a trip has been confirmed to purchase airfare. Any tour can be converted to a private departure when a trip does not meet its minimum. Additional costs may incur. Alternatively, apply your credit to any small-group tour departing within 12 months.
